How do I know whether I need air cannons, a sonic horn, or a vibrator?

As a first cut: cohesive, moist or caking materials in large vessels point to air cannons; fine powders that pack or flood point to the sonic horn; free-flowing materials in smaller hoppers point to vibrators. Send us your material spec and we'll tell you — including when the cheaper option is the right one.

Can air cannons damage my silo?

No, when engineered correctly. An air cannon releases energy through a nozzle designed to spread force along the wall into the material, unlike a hammer blow concentrated on one point. Mountings are welded to reinforcing pads sized for the vessel.

Can we install on a vessel that's in service?

Mounting pads and piping are installed during a planned shutdown. We design installations to fit your outage windows and pre-fabricate mounting assemblies to compress hot-work time.

How many air cannons do we need?
